প্রথম বেসরকারি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ইনস্টিটিউশনাল কোয়ালিটি অ্যাসুরেন্স সেল (আইকিউএসি) এবং বাংলাদেশের এক নম্বর বেসরকারি বিশ্ববিদ্যালয় নর্থ সাউথ ইউনিভার্সিটি (এনএসইউ) সম্প্রতি ‘ওপেন এডুকেশনাল রিসোর্সেস (ওইআর) নীতিমালা’ শীর্ষক ওয়েবিনারের আয়োজন করেছে।

আইকিউএসি পরিচালক প্রফেসর ড. নাজমুন নাহারের স্বাগত বক্তব্যের মাধ্যমে ওয়েবিনার শুরু হয়। ওয়েবিনারের মূল বক্তা ছিলেন বাংলাদেশ উন্মুক্ত বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের স্কুল অব বিজনেসের কোষাধ্যক্ষ ও ডিন অধ্যাপক মোস্তফা আজাদ কামাল। প্রফেসর আজাদ কপিরাইট এবং পেওয়াল: ইতিহাস, মৌলিক বিষয় এবং কপিরাইটের উদ্দেশ্য, এটি যেভাবে কাজ করে, কপিরাইটের ছাড় ও সীমাবদ্ধতা, কপিরাইট আইন, উন্মুক্ত শিক্ষাগত সম্পদ (OER) সংজ্ঞায়িত করা, OER ব্যবহার করে বিষয়বস্তু ব্যবহার এবং তৈরি করার বিষয়ে একটি উপস্থাপনা দেন। উপস্থাপনাগুলির মধ্যে কয়েকটি স্ব-ক্যুইজ ছিল, যাতে সমস্ত শ্রোতা অংশগ্রহণ করেছিলেন।

ওয়েবিনারে NSU এর উল্লেখযোগ্য সংখ্যক ফ্যাকাল্টি সদস্য এবং অন্যান্য বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ফ্যাকাল্টি সদস্যরা উপস্থিত ছিলেন। ওয়েবিনারে অন্যান্যদের মধ্যে উপস্থিত ছিলেন আইকিউএসি-এর দুই সমন্বয়কারী ড. মুহাম্মদ সাব্বির রহমান এবং ড. মুহাম্মদ সুজাউদ্দিন। ওয়েবিনার শেষে একটি প্রশ্নোত্তর পর্ব ছিল। অধিবেশনটি অত্যন্ত ইন্টারেক্টিভ এবং প্রাণবন্ত ছিল যা সকল অংশগ্রহণকারীদের উপকার করে।

North South University (NSU) organized a webinar on ‘Open Educational Resources (OER) Policies’

The Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of first private university and the number one ranked private university of Bangladesh, North South University (NSU) organized a webinar on ‘Open Educational Resources (OER) Policies’ recently.

The webinar began with a welcome address by IQAC Director, Prof. Dr. Nazmun Nahar. Prof. Mostafa Azad Kamal, Treasurer and Dean of School of Business of Bangladesh Open University was the keynote speaker of the webinar. Prof. Azad gave a presentation on copyrights and paywalls: history, fundamentals and purpose of copyright, the way it works, exemptions and limitations of copyright, copyright law, defining open educational resources (OER), using and creating contents by using OER. There were few self quizzes between the presentations, in which all the audiences participated.

The webinar was well attended by a notable number of faculty members of NSU and faculty members from other universities. Among others, the two coordinators of IQAC, Dr. Muhammad Sabbir Rahman and Dr. Muhammad Sujauddin were also present in the webinar. There was a question and answer session towards the end of the webinar. The session was highly interactive and lively benefiting all the participants
